Open files and folders by a single click in Windows 7

By default, you have to double-click to open a file or folder. You can change this behavior and have Windows 7 open a file or folder by a single click. Perform the following steps to do so:
1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
2. If the View by: is Category then click on Appearance and Personalization and then click Folder Options. If the View by: is Large icons or Small icons then click on Folder Options.
3. In the Folder Options dialog box, under General tab, click Single-click to open an item (point to select).
4. Click Apply and then click OK.
